On July 18th,
\nmy friend Konstantin Bayer organized a one-day art event
\non the site of \u00e2\u20ac\u0153M120\u00e2\u20ac\u00b3 which was an art galleries spot that got demolished this summer.
\n(Konstantin is an installation artist (and sculptor) from Berlin
\nwho responds a lot to the memories of objects, houses, etc,
\ntherefore the choice of the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153diffusion site\u00e2\u20ac\u009d was just perfect.)
\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6Our \u00e2\u20ac\u0153one-day art-land\u00e2\u20ac\u009d looked like one of these Kurt Schwitters\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Mertz Construction\u00e2\u20ac\u009d.<\/p>\n

We were 30 artists presenting our works
\n-framed, to make a visual clash with that \u00e2\u20ac\u0153trashy site\u00e2\u20ac\u009d-
\nand it was such a big deal to hang our stuff up
\non the few concrete walls that were still there\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6<\/p>\n

Most of us also did a performance, from electronic noise to 3D projections, dance, etc.
\nI did one too.
\nAnd I showed nine works,
\nmy artist statement was \u00e2\u20ac\u0153one artist does not equal one style\u00e2\u20ac\u009d (see previous post).<\/p>\n

I invited my friend Camille Nicolau
\n(specialized in marquetry and design, she also paints)
\nto participate to my \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Human Drips Performance\u00e2\u20ac\u009d :
\nI did it before in one of the photo studios in Concordia:
\nmy friend and schoolmate Didier Bellemare took pictures that time,
\nit was a wonderful collaboration.
\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6
\nSo it was all new for me to drag somebody in my delirium to \u00e2\u20ac\u0153become a painting\u00e2\u20ac\u009d
\n(we had to be more organized, sync at least just a little, for harmony\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s sake).
\n\"\"<\/a>
\nPreparation of the color mixes: 30 minutes.
\n\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I was quite nervous to do it in front of 80 people.
\nThe viewers responded real nicely to our piece,
\nand before we started offering glasses of paint
\n(like we usually offer glasses of wine in an art opening),
\nthey begun to \u00e2\u20ac\u0153serve themselves\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and throw mixed colors at us just like we planed.
\nThe performance lasted 30 minutes, we finished completely soaked,
\nand washed like we could
\n-improvising some street-clothed-showering from the tap water of the site
\n(every old area in China includes a sink in the street, no water in the houses).<\/p>\n

\nThat day was a very long one,
\nmy performance \u00e2\u20ac\u0153stage\u00e2\u20ac\u009d was a pit when I arrived on the site in the morning,
\nit was 45 degrees outside, we fried under the sun,
\nI stayed there for 14 hours, it was simply delicious.
\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6
